So, you want to book a birth doula in Canton, but what is the next step? If you think that we might be a great fit, here is the process to hire me as your Canton birth doula:

Step 1: Let’s have a consultation. This is a great way for you to ask me questions and for us to discuss your ideal birth and what you want and need out of a homebirth doula or natural hospital birth doula, to see if we align.

Step 2: If it’s a fit, reach out to me and I will send you a contract. At the time of signing, 50% of your payment is due. The other 50% of your payment will be due by 36 weeks, just before I go on call for you. If you want to, payments can be spaced out and made however you want, as long as the full remainder of your balance is paid in full by 36 weeks. Payment methods accepted are cash, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal, credit card, or Afterpay (by request).

Step 3: Once we have a signed contract in place, you will fill out a very detailed intake form and we will set up our first call. We will have monthly check-ins to get to know one another. In addition to our monthly meetings, you will also have a longer prenatal appointment (minimum of 1 or more depending on your package) at your home, and you have full access to me throughout your pregnancy via email, text, and call, as well.

Step 4: Based on your needs, I will send you plenty of pregnancy and birth resources and I will walk hand-in-hand with you throughout your pregnancy, to make sure that you are educated, empowered, and at peace with all decisions that you need to make for yourself and baby during your pregnancy, birth, and in the immediate postpartum period.

Step 5: Towards the end of your pregnancy, we will be in contact a lot so that you can let me know if you have any changes in your pregnancy. When you go into labor, I will more than likely already know that things are shifting for you, but you will call me and I will be on my way when we decide that you need my support. If you are having a hospital-based birth, I can come to your home or straight to the hopsital. If you are having a homebirth, I will obviously come to your home and can help in whatever way you need!

Step 6: Once your baby is here, you will settle in together. I will help you during the immediate postpartum phase with whatever you need. Typically, this looks like breastfeeding and getting you settled into bed with your baby! I stay for around 1-3 hours postpartum, depending on the circumstances.

Step 7: We will set up your postpartum appointment (or multiple postpartum appointments). You also have the option to add on additional postpartum meals, placenta encapsulation/tinctures, and more. During your postpartum appointment, my priority is to make you feel heard and to also take care of you and baby to make sure that you are able to rest, recover, and prioritize your health and recovery. I encourage as much skin-to-skin as possible, but mamas all have to shower and sleep, so I am always more than happy to snuggle the baby for you!

Step 8: We have likely become life long friends at this point and I would love to go on play dates and/or coffee meet ups with you! <3
